Why Companies Love Referrals

Did you know that 97% of our clients are referrals?

Here's the best thing about this:

  1. It's the highest complement!

  2. I've said it before & I'll say it again…You are awesome! And that means the people you know are likely awesome too! Working with these incredible folks is a tremendous honor.

So here's the thing, companies love referrals for the same reasons!*

  • Referrals are 4x more likely to get hired

  • Referrals save companies ~$7,500 per hire

  • Referrals make companies 25% more money

Here are a few dos & don'ts for becoming a referral when you're on the job hunt:

  • Do network before you need something. Start building your community now.

  • Don't just try to network with recruiters. You'll have better luck & bigger impact connecting with the people who work in the departments you're targeting.

  • Do ask folks if you can put them down as a referral if you're applying to their company. They often get a cash incentive $$$

  • Don't talk their ear off. Be interested, not just interesting. Try to spend 85% of your time listening when you meet someone or hold an informational interview.

Don't be shy, share this blog with someone who could use a nudge to put themselves out there in the job search.
